Mission Statement
The mission of the Hood County Substance Abuse Council (HCSAC) is to confront you and adult substance use/misuse by changing behaviors and educating our community in order to create healthier and safer communities.
Focus Areas
There are 3 main focus areas we target with our programs, trainings, and outreach events:
Education - We aim to educate our community by attending community events in order to spread information pertaining to statistics, how to have conversations with youth about substance use/misuse, and resources in the area available to youth and adults.
Assessment - We are continuously evaluating data collected from community partners/agencies, the CDC, the DEA, and conducting school surveys in order to strategize change.
Prevention - Our programs and trainings are aimed at preventing the use/misuse of legal and illicit substances. We want youth and adults to have the facts about the choices they are making in order to promote healthy behaviors and safer communities.
